"Milwaukee
was a track that I took to pretty quickly last
year. I enjoy racing there and expect to have an
even better result this year than last. The NYSE
team feels like Milwaukee is the perfect place
for us to get back on track and pick up a victory." Marco
Andretti
"Marco had a very strong qualifying and race at
Milwaukee in 2006 and we are confident of repeating
that form again this year. With our points standing
in the championship looking so dire the NYSE team
is now focusing purely on notching up wins for
the remainder of the season"

Marco at the Mile:
In his first start at Milwaukee in 2006, Andretti
started third, led 39 laps and finished fifth.
Andretti is tied for 14th in the IndyCar Series driver championship.
He's only 21 points out of 10th place.
Andretti's best finish of the 2007 season came at the Honda Grand Prix of St.
Petersburg where he finished fourth.
Andretti
finished second at the 2006 Indianapolis 500 in what was the second-closest finish
in the history of the event. He joined both his father and grandfather in earning
the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year honor.
Andretti
became the youngest driver (19 years, five months, 14 days) to win a major open-wheel
race when he took the checkered flag at Infineon Raceway on August 27, 2006.
He finished seventh in the 2006 IndyCar Series driver championship and collected
the IndyCar Series Bombardier Rookie of the Year award. He
made six starts in the Indy Pro Series in 2005, collecting
three victories (St. Petersburg, Indianapolis
road course and Infineon Raceway),
five top fives and three pole positions.
The
track :
The
track is a mile long (1.032 mi, 1.66 km) oval
track that seats about 45,000 spectators. It operated
as a dirt track until 1953.
The Milwaukee Mile’s premier distinction is as the oldest operating motor
speedway in the world, hosting at least one auto race every year since 1903.
The
1991 CART event at the track was dominated by the
Andretti family. For the first time in the worldwide
history of auto racing, three member of the same family
finished 1-2-3. Michael Andretti won the race, second
went to his cousin John, and third to his father Mario.
Michael's brother Jeff finished 11th.
Marco
Andretti on the Milwaukee Mile, 2006:
"I'm
looking forward to racing at The Milwaukee Mile. It's
a relatively tight, flat track and you have to get your
setup just right or you're in for a long day. The NYSE
team had a successful test there... and what
we learned from that test should really help us as we
head into race weekend."
Marco
Andretti.
"The
premium at Milwaukee is on mechanical grip with maximum downforce. We had a successful
test there a couple weeks ago and got Marco very comfortable with the car in
a race setup. Qualifying is going to be a real battle; one-tenth of a second
off pole and you could be in eighth or tenth spot on the grid. We'll be looking
to qualify well but we definitely think that we'll be strong contenders."
