Marco
the Magnificent: Andretti driving for another
victory at Infineon Raceway By Erin Lawley
Despite
the negative attention the sophomore received at the season’s
start and the talk that maybe he wasn’t the “real
thing,” he never second-guessed himself. “I like
that attention,” Marco admitted. “The
more eyes the better. It’s a confidence booster. It
doesn’t make me nervous at all. It’s tougher
when no one’s paying attention.” GO TO ARTICLE
Andretti
back in groove:
By Curtis Pashelka. When Marco Andretti finished
celebrating last year's IndyCar Series win at Infineon Raceway,
it looked to be the start of something special for the driver
with the most famous last name in open-wheel racing. Instead,
the first half of the 2007 season turned out to be the most
frustrating time of his young career. GO TO ARTICLE
High
finishes turn around Andretti's 'disaster' season: "He
didn't have the best car to start those races. We had to work
on it all day, and at the end we were in contention. He's not
giving up. I think his teammates have told him that's what
he's got to do." By A.J. Perez, USA TODAY GO TO

expecting wild race at Michigan track: Trust and knowledge

Marco Andretti said "We run so close and all of that, it’s
like who is going to take the bigger chance instead of
timing your passes...it’s just like these cars are
stuck together. You’re
trying to draft anything that moves — a fly or whatever — down
the front straightaway to get ahead of somebody else. Times
have changed when it comes to that". READ

Andretti, the baby-faced assassin of 2006, was brutally
blunt when questioned about his year so far. "A disaster," said

Two things came out of the Iowa race that I thought were
significant. The first was Marco Andretti's performance.
His sophomore slump has been well-documented. At Iowa, he
put all that behind him with a solid second-place finish.

"The big difference between NASCAR and the IRL is that NASCAR
races modified stock cars while Indy cars are purpose built
race cars. They are really fast. The speeds are such that
tiny little things are usually the difference between winning,
losing, and bouncing off a wall. A thousand things are going
on everywhere on the track, every minute of the race. Some
people find it to be dull. They say they can't understand
why people watch cars, on a track, going in circles. That's
about as perceptive as saying that drama is dull because
it is just people, on a stage, talking to each other."
