Marco Mailout! THe best way to keep up with M.A.

Napa Valley RegisterMarco the Magnificent: Andretti driving for another victory at Infineon Raceway By Erin Lawley
Despite the negative attention the sophomore received at the season’s start and the talk that maybe he wasn’t the “real thing,” he never second-guessed himself. “I like that attention,” Marco admitted. “The more eyes the better. It’s a confidence booster. It doesn’t make me nervous at all. It’s tougher when no one’s paying attention.” GO TO ARTICLE

Andretti back in groove:
By Curtis Pashelka. When Marco Andretti finished celebrating last year's IndyCar Series win at Infineon Raceway, it looked to be the start of something special for the driver with the most famous last name in open-wheel racing.
Instead, the first half of the 2007 season turned out to be the most frustrating time of his young career. GO TO ARTICLE

High finishes turn around Andretti's 'disaster' season: "He didn't have the best car to start those races. We had to work on it all day, and at the end we were in contention. He's not giving up. I think his teammates have told him that's what he's got to do." By A.J. Perez, USA TODAY GO TO ARTICLE

IRL expecting wild race at Michigan track: Trust and knowledge of other drivers a requirement at Firestone Indy 400. The requirements for racing IndyCars at Michigan International Speedway include a lot more than just driving ability.

Marco Andretti said "We run so close and all of that, it’s like who is going to take the bigger chance instead of timing your passes...it’s just like these cars are stuck together. You’re trying to draft anything that moves — a fly or whatever — down the front straightaway to get ahead of somebody else. Times have changed when it comes to that". READ MORE

Andretti out to flip his luck. Seeks to shake off sophomore slump: Marco Andretti, the baby-faced assassin of 2006, was brutally blunt when questioned about his year so far. "A disaster," said the sophomore IndyCar Series driver at Michigan International Speedway on Friday, where he was preparing for Sunday's Firestone Indy 400. "That's how I'd describe my season". Pressure should be off Andretti in sophomore season:
Veteran ABC/ESPN IndyCar Series reporter Jack Arute checks in weekly with his "views from pit lane."

Two things came out of the Iowa race that I thought were significant. The first was Marco Andretti's performance. His sophomore slump has been well-documented. At Iowa, he put all that behind him with a solid second-place finish. Read Article

This season will go long way in shaping Andretti: Veteran Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network host Mike King checks in weekly with his views from trackside. "This guy is going to win a bunch of races before his career is over. A bunch. But this season just might turn out to be his most important.
Last year he became a star, but 2007 will be remembered as the year that
Marco Andretti became a man." READ ARTICLE

This year’s 17-race Indy Racing League IndyCar Series campaign is a breath of fresh air: Third generation driver Marco Andretti continues to grow. Despite having a sophomore summer, Andretti will, eventually, settle down and start winning races again. His engineer Eddie Jones surely hasn’t forgotten how to tune up his Dallara/Honda/Firestone machine since last year; nor has Andretti forgotten how to drive. It’s just one of those things.

Riding along as good guy revisits road to stirring 500 win: It is Monday, the day after the big race, and we are driving Indianapolis Motor Speedway with winner Dario Franchitti.

Close to here AGR teammate Marco Andretti was sent spinning and flying. It is mind-boggling that a driver could flip and roll that way, and somehow walk away with little more than a limp. Know what Marco did after the race? He partied with his teammates all night.

Andretti doesn't dwell on scary crash at Indy 500: Marco Andretti stepped out of the medical center at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, smiling about his teammate's victory despite the most horrific crash of his young career.

For Marco, it's about what will be: And not about 'what if,' as could have been the case after last year's finish. So Marco Andretti's entire season rests on today's Indianapolis 500. No pressure.
''Here we are again trying to turn my season around like last year,'' said the 20-year-old Andretti, who went into the 2006 Indy 500 a struggling rookie, yet came within an eyelash of winning the race. "The big difference between NASCAR and the IRL is that NASCAR races modified stock cars while Indy cars are purpose built race cars. They are really fast. The speeds are such that tiny little things are usually the difference between winning, losing, and bouncing off a wall. A thousand things are going on everywhere on the track, every minute of the race. Some people find it to be dull. They say they can't understand why people watch cars, on a track, going in circles. That's about as perceptive as saying that drama is dull because it is just people, on a stage, talking to each other.

Quotes: I've not even thought of getting an offer from F1, but, yeah, it would bug me. I'd like to win the Indy 500, but that can take a lifetime to do. But there's always the option of coming back. Dad came back on top of the world when he came back to Champ Car after F1 and won his first race. I want the IndyCar title. If thoughts of F1 were even in the back of my mind then I wouldn't be focused enough. Marco Andretti

Whatever he does in the future will have to be done in the correct shape and form, without repeating the mistakes and the errors I made in the past. If he decides to go to F1 it will have to be with the right team, without making a leap into the unknown. That's why before the test in Jerez I told him to think only about having fun, that his F1 career won't be built or destroyed based on how the first day goes Michael Andretti
